ftp:\/\/ftp.software.ibm.com\/storage\/devdrvr\/Linux\/lin_tape_source-lin_taped\/<\/p>\n
Grab IBMtapeutil, lin_tape-1.*, and lin_taped*<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0 Make sure you install dependencies:\u00a0 rpm-build, gcc<\/p>\n
Easy way:\u00a0 yum -y install rpm-build gcc kernel-devel<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0 rpm -ivh lin_tape-1.27.0-1.src.rpm.bin (why they left the bin extension is beyond me)<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0 cd \/usr\/src\/redhat\/SPECS<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0 rpmbuild -ba lin_tape.spec<\/p>\n
6. cd ..\/RPMS\/x86_64\/<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0 rpm -ivh lin_tape*rpm<\/p>\n
8.\u00a0 Now install the lin_taped rpm you downloaded:<\/p>\n
rpm -ivh lin_taped-1.27.0*rpm.bin<\/p>\n
9.\u00a0 Install the IBMtapeutil tarball you downloaded:<\/p>\n
tar xf IBMtapeutil.1.5.1.rhel5.x86_64.tar.bin<\/p>\n
cd IBMtapeutil.1.5.1<\/p>\n
make install<\/p>\n
